It’s A Tea Day

I watched, ‘ Phantom Thread’ last night!

In the movie, a genius dressmaker, drinks Lapsang Souchang! And as I was watching, I remembered, how much, I used to love that tea. It is smokey! But I never seemed to mind! In fact, as I just mentioned…I used to love it!

After coffee this am, I knew…it was tea time.

I made myself, a pot of Lapsang Souchang, then couldn’t help..but think..of the startling and disturbing contrast..between the peace, this tea brings..and the sadness engulfing all China these days!

My spouse last night, was critical of the movie I mentioned above! He did not like it! I on the other hand thought..it was..interesting at so many levels..especially..the textiles..and custom design! The acting was marvellous too! And…the tea.

Wishing everyone peace, and a cup of their favourite tea.

I used to work as a graphic designer, until one day I was tragically and blissfully hit by two colliding meteors! One caused my falling in love with the world of coffee! And the other resulted in me falling out of love with the not so wonderful and nearly suffocating office culture! I left the glamour of the design world, and opened up my little café! Those were the best years of my life! I say ‘were’, because (wait! May be another time! But please do ask me if you ‘must’ know and can’t sleep tonight unless I tell you!) For the past three years, I have been living in a pyramid shape house in a middle of a green forest in the summer; a green forest buried underneath lots - I mean LOTS - of snow in the winter. I used to ‘think I still do ;)’ love the city! With its buzzing energy! I love to travel and seeing different food and coffee scenes...preferably alone! visiting ‘quirky and unusual’ places! I do not love visiting museums, hugely commercialized areas, malls and landmarks! I love old and full of heritage ‘anything’! I also love, to sit in a busy coffeeshop ‘reading quietly’ and not talking! Talking exhausts me most of the time! Watching the world unfold.. and thinking ...never does!

  1. Hi Kat,
I want to watch that movie to see Daniel Day- Lewis’s performance.
As far as tea, unfortunately it is a taste I haven’t acquired yet. My sister drinks all kinds all the time and I just cannot do it. I am a coffee girl – with cream and chocolate!
    I love your dogs mug!
    Blessings! 🙂 ♥♥

    1. Daniel Day Lewis, is amazing in it! (As usual)! You won’t be disappointed! I’m also a huge fan 🙂

It’s ok not to like tea. It’s ok to be ourselves and just be..different! It’s what makes us unique ! I love tea! But I’m a coffee girl ☕️ first! And my fave? ‘Brazil Rainforest’ 😃! Straight Black. No sugar or cream.

Seems you love Mocha! Mocha is delightful too!

Thank you for liking the dog mug! It’s from Anthropologie! That store always carries neat kitchenware 🙂

Wishing you a peaceful evening. ♥️

  2. I have yet to see this move. Daniel Day-Lewis is amazing. That is probably why I’d watch it. Now you have my curiosity. I’m also curious with the tea you mentioned. I’m not a tea drinker but I’ll try anything once.

Tea is interesting. It’s like sitting around a campfire, all in a..cup of tea.
