As much as I love summer, this darker exchange between us, took place the other day…for no reason.

* * *

You arrived…

You took your raincoat off..

You looked at me as if expecting me to run to you, throwing my arms around your neck, while you pick me up…twirling me around…

I hear you laughing…your deeply free ringing laugh…

Then you put me down…but you immediately take your long waltz step..while still holding both my hands. Not giving me a chance, to declare, I am not in the mood for your rise and fall moves…

The gradual rise to the toe…is already exhausting every muscle in my aching body..

As the heel of my shackled left foot rises, the ball of my right foot gives way..but you fail to notice…while we continued our dance to now the deafening noise..of all the clapping waves..mocking my increasingly stiffening moves

As you slowly started to feel The clumsiness of my lower limbs…and I could see how you are no longer stared at me quietly…

Your eyes, as usual, are holding back all the questions..You hate it when I get too serious! You usually run away carelessly and proclaim ‘This is all winter stuff’

Yet to my surprise this one time, you did ask ‘when did you stop being in love with life?’

I responded ‘After you neglected me all winter!’

As our dance stopped…And we were no longer in rhythm…just standing there..motionless

I used to work as a graphic designer, until one day I was tragically and blissfully hit by two colliding meteors! One caused my falling in love with the world of coffee! And the other resulted in me falling out of love with the not so wonderful and nearly suffocating office culture! I left the glamour of the design world, and opened up my little café! Those were the best years of my life! I say ‘were’, because (wait! May be another time! But please do ask me if you ‘must’ know and can’t sleep tonight unless I tell you!) For the past three years, I have been living in a pyramid shape house in a middle of a green forest in the summer; a green forest buried underneath lots - I mean LOTS - of snow in the winter. I used to ‘think I still do ;)’ love the city! With its buzzing energy! I love to travel and seeing different food and coffee scenes...preferably alone! visiting ‘quirky and unusual’ places! I do not love visiting museums, hugely commercialized areas, malls and landmarks! I love old and full of heritage ‘anything’! I also love, to sit in a busy coffeeshop ‘reading quietly’ and not talking! Talking exhausts me most of the time! Watching the world unfold.. and thinking ...never does!

    1. I’ll take gorgeous words over looks any-day Angela! I feel alive, at peace, in my element and basically home, when the words flutter around me like a warm blanket on the coldest night. I know you probably feel the same.
      Love to you Angela on this quiet evening…
