Is This The Real Life?!

I finally had the chance to watch the movie ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’!!!

Wow!

It reminded me of all the movies I’ve watched over the years, of brilliant musicians who died way earlier than their time!

I’m often deeply moved when watching such movies, and drifting between the brilliancy of the music, and the tragedy unfolding on the screen!

Queen

What a band!!!! What talent(s)!! ..and the diva who hid behind a pallium regale! Who at the end of the day, was so alone and incredibly sad!

Yes we can all say, Freddy Mercury wrote his own ending! But did he really?! And ‘does it really matter?!’ I personally think ‘doesn’t really matter, to me’! Considering, I realize I’m no judge. Considering, why focus on the fact that ‘Mercury brought it upon himself! Look at the lifestyle he chose to lead…etc’ when, so many of us, can do worse, but with 1/16th of the musical brilliancy!

Personally, I loved him in the movie! Yes I realize it’s just a movie, which is perhaps, exaggeratedly produced to glorify the good, along, the painful and the ugly! However, isn’t that a sign of a ‘good’ movie nonetheless?!!

Since then, I cannot stop playing Queen.

Freddy Mercury, I miss you. I hope, you are finally happy and still making regale music, in heaven somewhere where you’re loved, and ‘your life is spared…from this monstrosity’.

I used to work as a graphic designer, until one day I was tragically and blissfully hit by two colliding meteors! One caused my falling in love with the world of coffee! And the other resulted in me falling out of love with the not so wonderful and nearly suffocating office culture! I left the glamour of the design world, and opened up my little café! Those were the best years of my life! I say ‘were’, because (wait! May be another time! But please do ask me if you ‘must’ know and can’t sleep tonight unless I tell you!) For the past three years, I have been living in a pyramid shape house in a middle of a green forest in the summer; a green forest buried underneath lots - I mean LOTS - of snow in the winter. I used to ‘think I still do ;)’ love the city! With its buzzing energy! I love to travel and seeing different food and coffee scenes...preferably alone! visiting ‘quirky and unusual’ places! I do not love visiting museums, hugely commercialized areas, malls and landmarks! I love old and full of heritage ‘anything’! I also love, to sit in a busy coffeeshop ‘reading quietly’ and not talking! Talking exhausts me most of the time! Watching the world unfold.. and thinking ...never does!

  1. We loved that movie, too. Rami Malek was amazing and I so enjoyed being able to appreciate the genius of the band in ways I hadn’t before. My girls loved some Queen songs already but were introduced to so many more. I hear them listening by themselves, hear them singing in the shower, together blaring it in one of there rooms and in the car on the way to school.

    1. Yes Malek was excellent!!! Glad you loved the movie too! I can rarely watch a movie twice but I could see watching this one again! Your girls are awesome! Wish that happens in ‘my’ house!! But the dog (only one around) can’t sing 😦
Enjoy the full house. It’s so quiet here some days 😊

  2. One of my biggest regrets was not seeing Queen in concert.

Freddy was a natural performer. He would have been the greatest homeless performer if it came to that. I read somewhere that those close to him revealed how he connected spiritually with women and sexually with men. I read he was shy off stage and bigger than life on.

Sometimes I wonder if he would have preferred to have died on stage. I think he would have.
